LATEST APPROACHES AND VALUES ON
OUR TEACHING AND LEARNING APPROACH
Gistrav Islamia School implements modern approaches in the teaching and learning process to ensure the maximum development to the students, not only to their academic development but also to their soft skills development, such as critical thinking, leadership, communication and collaboration which are needed in the 21st century competition.
Student-Centered Approach
Students are given bigger space to explore the knowledge they are learning. Teachers are not the main source of knowledge, instead they act as a facilitator who guide and facilitate the students to discover their own knowledge.
Project-based Learning
Students are active learners who take responsibility for self-managing their progress throughout the learning process. They are encouraged to collaborate, design, problem-solve, think critically, investigate and communicate along with understanding the values of strong work ethic.
Inquiry-based Learning
Learning starts with a question which aims to make the students develop deeper understanding. Students become investigators by accessing information through technology and experiences.
Problem-based Learning
Students are encouraged to solve an authentic real-world problem through an investigation. This provides a new learning experience in which students investigate, test and discover in order to find a viable solution.
Communicative Approach
Students learn new languages through having to communicate real meaning. They are involved actively in the real communication at which their natural strategies for language acquisition will be used and they will be able to use the language.
